Terms of Service

Last updated: February 26, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AlgoVolta (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

AlgoVolta is an interactive technical interview preparation platform. The Service provides:

  • A curated curriculum of coding problems organized by algorithm patterns and fundamental categories
  • An in-browser code editor with automated code execution and test case validation
  • Pattern recognition quizzes to develop problem-solving intuition
  • AI-powered hints to assist with problem solving
  • Reference materials and learning guides for each algorithm pattern
  • Progress tracking and spaced repetition scheduling

The Service is provided on both a free and paid basis, as described in Section 5.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account using an email address and password, or by authenticating through a supported OAuth provider (Google or GitHub).

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Plans and Payment Terms

5.1 Free Plan

The free plan provides access to a limited selection of algorithm patterns, all fundamental coding categories, a limited number of pattern recognition questions, and a daily limit on AI-powered hints. The specific content available under the free plan may change at our discretion.

5.2 Pro Plan (Monthly Subscription)

The Pro plan is a recurring monthly subscription that provides access to all content and unlimited AI hints. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing management portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.

5.3 Lifetime Plan (One-Time Purchase)

The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that grants permanent access to all current and future content on the platform, equivalent to the Pro plan. Lifetime access is tied to your account and is non-transferable. Early bird pricing may be available for a limited number of users, after which the regular price applies.

5.4 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your credit card information.

5.5 Refunds

Pro subscriptions: If you cancel within the first 7 days of your initial subscription and have not made substantial use of the paid features, you may request a refund by contacting us at admin@algovolta.com. Refunds for subsequent billing periods are not available — you should cancel before your next renewal date.

Lifetime purchases: Lifetime purchases are generally non-refundable due to the immediate and permanent nature of the access granted. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the Service, please contact us and we will work to resolve it.

5.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. For active Pro subscribers, price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following at least 30 days' notice. Lifetime plan pricing at the time of purchase is final.

6. Code Submissions and Execution

The Service allows you to write and submit code that is executed in sandboxed containers via a third-party code execution service (Judge0). By submitting code, you acknowledge that:

  • Your code is transmitted to third-party servers for execution
  • You are solely responsible for the code you write and submit
  • You will not submit code intended to exploit, attack, or compromise the execution environment or any other system
  • Execution results (output, runtime, memory usage) are stored in association with your account

7. AI-Powered Features

The Service provides AI-powered hints generated by the Anthropic Claude API. By using the AI hint feature, you acknowledge that:

  • Problem context and your code may be sent to Anthropic's servers to generate hints
  • AI-generated hints are for educational guidance only and may not always be accurate or optimal
  • You should not rely solely on AI hints as authoritative programming advice
  • AI hint usage may be subject to rate limits depending on your plan

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Content

All content provided by the Service — including problem descriptions, test cases, solutions, pattern explanations, reference materials, recognition quiz questions, and the underlying curriculum structure — is owned by AlgoVolta and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

8.2 Your Code

You retain ownership of the original code you write and submit through the Service. By submitting code, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and execute your code solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., running test cases, saving drafts, tracking progress).

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or the underlying infrastructure
  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access or extract content from the Service
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or publicly share our proprietary content (problem sets, solutions, explanations, quiz questions)
  • Submit malicious code designed to exploit, damage, or compromise the code execution environment
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent access controls, payment requirements, or usage limits
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party services including Stripe (payment processing), Judge0 (code execution), Anthropic (AI hints), Resend (email delivery), and OAuth providers (Google, GitHub). Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Code execution results will be accurate or consistent across all environments
  • AI-generated hints will be correct, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
  • Use of the Service will result in any particular outcome in technical interviews or employment
  • Any defects in the Service will be corrected

The Service is an educational tool. We make no guarantees regarding interview success, employment outcomes, or the completeness of the curriculum.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ALGOVOLTA, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AlgoVolta, its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your code submissions or other content you provide through the Service; or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may delete your account and all associated data
  • For Pro subscribers, no refund will be issued for the remaining portion of a billing period unless required by applicable law
  • For Lifetime plan holders, termination for cause (e.g., Terms violation) does not entitle you to a refund

You may delete your account at any time. Account deletion is permanent and results in the irreversible loss of all your data, including progress, submissions, and drafts.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at admin@algovolta.com. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration or in the courts as described in Section 16.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AlgoVolta regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
